Self-Made Maps: Self-Guided Practice Across the TCO (Workbook H)

Behavior analysis is a broad and complex field of study, one that many folks dedicate their entire lives to. So, STUDYING behavior analysis can be an uphill challenge on it’s own. In this manual series, Dr. Shane T. Spiker breaks down some of the concepts based on the Behavior Analyst Certification Board requirements, giving you a self-guided opportunity to study the way YOU want to. There are no rules here, more like checkpoints.

Workbook H focuses not on the tools of behavior change, but how they are selected, implemented, and monitored. It’s great that we have behavior change tools at our fingertips, but how do we know they work? Are they the right fit for the context? What about our procedures is socially valid? This workbook covers how we select and implement procedures based on context and scientific evidence.

Use this manual. Write in it, mark it up, doggy ear it, tab it, destroy it, but use it. Make this YOUR way into the concepts. Define the terms. Give yourself examples. Practice the skills. Teach it to someone else. The more you know about the concepts, the better off you’ll be as you enter the field as a behavioral scientist.
