Behavior analysis is a broad and complex field of study, one that many folks dedicate their entire lives to. So, STUDYING behavior analysis can be an uphill challenge on it’s own. In this manual series, Dr. Shane T. Spiker breaks down some of the concepts based on the Behavior Analyst Certification Board requirements, giving you a self-guided opportunity to study the way YOU want to. There are no rules here, more like checkpoints.
Workbook D, covering section D. Experimental Design, focuses on all things related to how we design and implement experimental design. We cover topics like experimental control, functional relations, and how to select designs. As a student of behavior analysis, this was one of the more challenging areas of content and I wish I’d had this manual to practice with.
Use this manual. Write in it, mark it up, doggy ear it, tab it, destroy it, but use it. Make this YOUR way into the concepts. Define the terms. Give yourself examples. Practice the skills. Teach it to someone else. The more you know about the concepts, the better off you’ll be as you enter the field as a behavioral scientist.
